We'll send a prepaid return label within one business day, you post it back in any packaging, and your full refund reaches your original payment method within 5 business days of arrival.

Yes. Email hello@whom.com.au within 30 days of delivery with your order number and what you'd like instead, and we'll reserve the replacement for you.

Change-of-mind exchanges — a different size or colour — are at your own cost. You cover return postage to us, and postage on the replacement going back out. The item needs to be unused and in its original packaging.

If your item is faulty or incorrect, exchanges are always free and we cover postage both ways.

Please note that pilling, gradual colour fading, and slight colour variation between batches are characteristics of untreated natural fibre rather than faults. Our care guidance below helps minimise all three.

Lyocell. Our fabric is 100% bamboo lyocell, not bamboo viscose.

The distinction is the single most important thing to understand when comparing bamboo bedding. Most bamboo sheets on the market are viscose, produced by dissolving bamboo pulp in harsh solvents that are then discharged. Lyocell uses a closed-loop process in which the solvent is captured and reused, and it yields a stronger, smoother, longer fibre that resists pilling and holds its softness far longer.

Lyocell costs considerably more to produce. It is the reason our sheets feel the way they do, and the reason they still feel that way after years of washing.

That is a lower number than the four-figure counts advertised on some cotton sheets, and it should be. Thread count measures threads per square inch, and it only compares meaningfully within the same fibre. Bamboo lyocell filaments are finer, longer and smoother than cotton staple fibres, so a lyocell sheet at 312 has a denser, more fluid hand than a cotton sheet at several times that figure.

Very high cotton thread counts are often reached by twisting several thin plies together and counting each one — which adds a number to the label without adding anything to the sheet. We would rather publish the real figure and let the fabric make the argument.

No — and the differences sit in two places.

The fibre. Most bamboo bedding is viscose. Ours is lyocell, which is stronger, smoother and made in a closed-loop process. Our fabric is independently tested by SGS and achieved the highest possible rating for bamboo pilling, and all of our production partners are certified to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100.

The making. What happens to the cloth after it is woven is what separates one set of bamboo sheets from another, and it is where we spend our time. Our bedding is finished with contrasting piped edge detailing, engraved shell buttons, inner corner ties to hold a duvet in place, elastic corner straps on the fitted sheets, and a short-side label so you can make the bed without guessing. These are slower, more expensive details to construct. They are the reason our bedding hangs, sits and holds its shape the way it does.

What matters most in bedding is who you choose to work with, and how carefully the cloth is finished once it is woven. Our partners are certified to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, our fabric is independently tested by SGS and rated highest possible for bamboo pilling, and we hold our partners to fair workplace practices.

Yes. All of our production partners are certified to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100.

OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 is an independent testing and certification system that checks for traces of over 100 substances commonly used in textile production which are known to be harmful to human health. Certification means none of them are present in the finished fabric.

Our lyocell is also made in a closed-loop process, meaning the solvent used to turn bamboo pulp into fibre is captured and reused rather than discharged as waste — a meaningful difference from conventional bamboo viscose.

We also plant one tree for every order placed.

Some pilling is normal in any natural fibre, but ours resists it unusually well — our fabric was tested by SGS and achieved the highest possible rating for bamboo pilling, and lyocell's longer, stronger filaments pill considerably less than viscose.

To minimise it, wash separately from rough fabrics such as towels and fleece, avoid excess friction, and follow the care label. If pilling does appear, remove it gently with a fabric shaver.

They're a common choice for people with sensitive skin. The fabric is breathable, temperature-regulating and hypoallergenic, with a smooth surface that's gentle against skin and hair. Because our partners are OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified, the fabric carries no traces of the harmful substances commonly used in textile processing, and we never treat it with chemical softeners or optical brighteners.

If you have a specific skin condition, we'd always suggest checking with your doctor first.

Bamboo lyocell fibre is finer and rounder than cotton, which is what gives it that noticeably smoother, more fluid drape — closer to silk than to crisp percale cotton.

It's also considerably more breathable and better at regulating temperature, which is why it suits hot sleepers and Australian summers particularly well. It wicks moisture rather than holding it.

Cotton is more robust and handles hot washing and tumble drying better. Bamboo asks for a gentler wash, and rewards it with a softness that increases over time rather than wearing away.

Wash separately — not mixed with other fabrics or dark linen — in cold water on a gentle cycle, using a mild detergent such as a wool wash.

Avoid bleach, fabric softeners and optical brighteners entirely.

Line dry in the shade, or tumble dry on low heat. Be careful not to over-dry, as this damages the fibres.

Never use bleach — our bamboo lyocell is delicate and bleach will ruin it.

Mix one part baking soda with two parts water to form a paste. Dampen the stain, apply the paste, let the fabric dry, then gently brush off any residue and wash in cold water.

A mild, eco-friendly pre-soak and stain remover also works. If you're unsure, test a small area of the sheet first.

Barely. Our fabric is pre-washed and pre-shrunk before it is cut and sewn, and we build a small extra allowance into every size to absorb any minor movement in the first few washes.

Bamboo lyocell is heat-sensitive, however, and heat is what causes shrinkage. Wash in cold water on a gentle cycle, and line dry in the shade or tumble dry on low. Hot water or a high dryer setting will shrink the fabric and damage the fibres — that instruction is on the care label for a reason.

Our fitted sheets have 40cm deep pockets as standard, and our Super King fitted sheet goes to 50cm. Elastic corner straps hold them in place. That accommodates most Australian mattresses, including pillow-top and deeper foam mattresses.
